We select carefully the high-quality fava bean batches to be used as ingredients. Every batch is controlled and pre-handled for quality ensurance before milling to ensure the consistency of the high quality of the products.
Read moreWe manufacture high-quality pulse protein ingredients for food and beverage applications in our mill, located in Kokemäki. Our rawmaterial is Finnish fava bean, which we source either from Finnish partners or directly from farmers. Each arriving rawmaterial load is inspected for quality before unloading. As a result of careful sampling and analysis the load is accepted for unloading and storing in our silos, located next to the mill. While our special silos enable careful control of the rawmaterial batches, it also supports the fundamental task of product safety and quality control, both of particular concern.
Our companys main operation in storing and handling of grain has built our capabilities throughout several decades, which we consciously and actively benchmark and further develop in our mill. This synergy benefits our customers resulting in clean and consistent ingredients and responsible service.
EU commission has published protein autarchy strategy in 2018, which is the solid background for the Finnish food chain, starting from the farm and ending to the consumer’s plate. The effect of the cultivation of fava bean is positive, thanks to its capability to bind nitrogen in the soil. This reduces the need for additional fertilizers.
Furthermore, the amino acid composition is highly beneficial for food usage, which highly benefits those with special diet.
Cultivation variety breeding is in active phase and the ingredient functionalities are studied not only at universities, but also in multiple projects by members of the food value chain as well as in food and beverage companies. Ultimately this work brings additional value to the consumer needs and emphasizes responsibility of the food chain for the ecological targets.
